This position will primarily be responsible for leading a large team (30+) of administrative professionals within the Cargill Law Department. Primary responsibilities will include workforce planning, development of a high performing administrative support team, managing key human resources processes for their team, and continually striving for operational excellence. This position will have a structure of Team Leads below them who oversee some of the day to day managerial responsibilities of the Admin Assistant team members. There are some additional responsibilities related to space planning/management, emergency notification system, and other administrative support projects on an as needed basis.
40% - Develop and implement the strategy and business objectives for the Admin Assistant team. Gain an understanding of key business initiatives and anticipate the future needs and align resources to the business needs. Oversee and assure appropriate planning, coordination of activities, and resource allocation of the Admin Assistant team. Supervision and coaching of Admin Assistant team including hiring, retention, development and engagement of staff.
40% - Development and oversight of our Admin Assistant Team Leaders. Partner with our Team Leaders to coach, guide and develop their leadership skills. Partner on employee issues, performance management, and overall team development.
10% - Supervision of a small number of administrative assistants.
5% - Management of office space, including but not limited to assignment of office/cubicles, assigning building access, vendor management for office supplies (copiers, phones, etc). and other related tasks.
5% - Miscellaneous duties as assigned
Bachelor's (or higher) degree
At least 5 years of managing a medium to large team (direct and/or indirect reports)
Demonstrated success in developing people and leading teams to positive business outcomes
Proven change champion, including the ability to help others manage change
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
Strong leadership skills. Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor others
Creative, Innovative and strategic thinking skills. Excellent problem solving skills.
Ability to work with individuals at all levels of the organization.
Ability to handle highly confidential, sensitive information
Ability to work very independently and as part of a team
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multi-task
High level of self motivation and decision making ability
Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
