Basic Qualifications

5 years System Administration Experience

Scope of Responsibility/Expectation:
configure and manage systems in both lab and production environments.
Manage and maintain labs for customer specific environments as well as onsite
at customer premises. Must have the ability to work with engineering and
customers to facilitate the needs of the internal groups as well as customer
objectives. Maintaining backups, patching, security and configuration
management of specific environments


General Unix experience with IBM Aix, Oracle Solaris and Redhat

Knowledge around IBM server products including pSeries Power6,
HMC, VIO and mLPAR experience.

Strong VMware experience.

iSCSI and Fiber Channel SAN storage experience.

IBM Wesphere Application Server (WAS)

HW experience,
diagnostic of HW defect, server and PC installation and parts replacement.

experience. Must be able to analyze
performance issues and troubleshoot the problems.

Strong knowledge and experience in TCP/IP,
Routing, Vlans, etc.

Strong knowledge in firewall setup and
administration as well as load balancing concepts and configuration knowledge,
most specifically with F5 LTM load balancers.

Experience with NMS management software a
plus, especially around open source platforms such as Nagios or ZenOSS.

Knowledge with DNS and Bind, including setup
and troubleshooting experience.

Knowledge with configuration management platforms such as
cfengine and puppet a plus.

Must be able and
willing to travel to other internal sites as well as to customer sites as

be on-call as necessary to manage production, customer facing environments.
