Dealer.com is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to join our Systems Engineering team supporting our mission-critical infrastructure. We are looking for an individual with proven Linux expertise, who has supported a wide variety of technologies found in a modern-day web hosting environment. This individual needs to be a quick learner who is security-minded! Requirements:
6+ years Linux System Administration and/or demonstrated ability
Deep experience with the following technologies:
CentOS/RHEL
Fluent in one or more practical programming languages (perl, python, etc.) plus comfort in shell scripting
Solid understanding and experience with the following: DNS, Virtualization, MySQL, Java web server administration, SMTP, Networking, Load balancers, Web servers, Monitoring, Capacity planning tools
Ability to design projects and see them through from inception to completion
Experience training junior members in technology, and leading technology projects
Communication - spoken and written - documentation is critical
Linux Build and Deployment tools (Kickstart, RPM packaging, Yum, etc
Centralized Authentication (LDAP, etc.)
Source Control Systems
Java Search Engines (solr/lucene/etc.)
Distributed Caches
Distributed Filesystems
Cloud technologies (filesystems, VMs, etc.)
Content Delivery Networks
Solaris
Capacity planning tools
Knowledge of the following technologies/concepts a plus: Distributed Computing Concepts and Implementations (MapReduce, Hadoop etc)
