About the Job
The System Maintenance Mechanic in our high volume distribution center is accountable for performance of timely and cost-effective maintenance of machinery and installation of conveyor equipment. The ideal candidate has experience of conveyor operation and electronic components that are in direct relation to the equipment.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
Repairs and maintains machinery and conveyor equipment within the facility as required with minimal supervision
Maintains company assets in a quality fashion through understanding of mechanical, electrical and operational controls associated with the conveyor system
Disassembling machinery machinery and repairing broken part using both hand tools and power equipment
Provides advice and guidance to other maintenance mechanics and respects the work of others
Performs other maintenance repairs and duties in the facility that may not be conveyor related as assigned by management
Ensures minimal downtime of conveyor system
Basic Qualifications, Skills, and Knowledge Required
Minimum 3 years conveyor maintenance and repair experience.
Ability and willingness to perform repetitive bending, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 75 lbs, at time in crowded quarters.
Experience operating material handling and lift equipment.
Ability to work at heights and in unusual positions.
Schedule requires to work two weekend days
Welding and fabrication skills a plus.
Must be able to work in a fast pace, quick environment.
Reliable and strong work ethic.
Excellent prior attendance record.
Ability and willingness to provide own tools.
Must be comfortable working with a computer.
Ability and willingness to communicate effectively in English, both written and orally.
Must be highly motivated self starter, able to work independently, and be a team player.
Reliable with low absenteeism.
Work flexible hours and/or shifts which can include overtime and weekends.
Able to travel to outside schooling if required.
