Manages the operational security functions and processes for the credit union. To ensure that functions are being effectively administered in accordance with the requisite laws, regulations, risk tolerances, policies and procedures, and proper controls, and work with managers to diagnose and correct problems.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
To be effective, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty successfully.
Administers the security camera system process and alarm system process.
Conducts site reviews; write reports/recommendations on review conclusions.
Plans, develops and implements operational/physical security plans/programs.
Coordinates operational/physical security initiatives with key credit union areas, such as Facilities, Human Resources and Risk Management.
Monitors and evaluates key physical/operational security needs, issues and programs, recommends and implements corrective actions.
Maintains knowledge of complex industry trends, current security issues and security technology and update management on risks and threats that could impact the credit union.
Supports the credit union’s BCP/DR (Business Continuity Program / Disaster Recovery) programs.
Performs incident analysis and investigation relative to incidents with advice and closure to all issues identified in the analysis. Administers Incident Management Program. Effectively communicates incidents to SVP/CRO.
Administers employee access badge system.
Administers subpoena, levy and garnishment process.
Administers Operational Security Program
Administers Robbery Program
Administers Security Incident Program
Coordinates annual operational/physical security risk assessment with the risk management department.
Keeps management informed of potential risks, particularly with respect to level of crime, terrorism, and other violence and threats to credit union branch locations and corporate buildings.
Assists the SVP/CRO with security matters.
Complies with all regulations as required by law, including but not limited to Bank Secrecy Act, OFAC, FACT Act, GLBA, Regulation CC (funds availability), Regulation DD (TIS) and other regulations as required by law as it relates to his/her position.
Performs other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS, and ABILITIES

Eight to ten years of experience. Law enforcement, or physical/operational security officer or similar experience required.
Four-year college degree or equivalent work experience.
Licenses, Certificates, Registrations
Security certification(s) highly preferred.
Computer/Office Equipment Skills
Adding machine/10-Key, Type a minimum of 35 words per minute, Basic computer operating skills (windows navigation, mouse/keyboard functionality) Microsoft Outlook. Microsoft Office at an intermediate to advanced level.
Has supervisory/managerial responsibilities that are direct and typically with a subordinate group of 3 to 5 employees. Estimates personnel needs and assigns work to meet these needs. Supervises, coordinates and reviews the work of assigned staff. Recommends candidates for employment, conducts performance evaluations and salary reviews for assigned staff, and applies company policy
A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact. Work involves extensive personal contact with others and is usually of a personal or sensitive nature. Work may involve motivating or influencing others. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary and often requires the ability to influence and/or sell ideas or services to others.
