The Liu lab at University of Michigan is currently accepting applications for post-doctoral fellows from highly qualified candidates interested in working in an interdisciplinary environment at the interface of engineering, cell biology, and biochemistry. We are interested in a systems understanding of endocytosis and cell migration as well as using cellular reconstitution for fundamental understanding of biological design and for building useful devices.
Two positions will be available. Qualified candidates will be highly motivated, creative, and with a strong track record. Backgrounds in biophysics, physics, biology, or engineering are desirable. Candidates should have significant experience with relevant experimental techniques. Experience with cell and molecular biology techniques, protein purification (particularly working with membrane proteins), instrumentation and device design (particularly with microfluidics), live cell imaging and image analysis would be highly desirable.
