Job Summary: Under the supervision of the Vice President, Resource
Development/Southwest, the Director of Development/ Corporate -
Houston has responsibility for planning and implementing an
aggressive fundraising program with major corporations, and
establishing a new fundraising event. Strong focus will be placed
on generating cause-related marketing alliances from new corporate
prospects, including engaging high level volunteer Board members in
accessing their networks to open doors. Strong emphasis will be
placed on managing major corporate accounts to ensure deliverables
are met, while building and renewing corporate sponsor pool.
Activities also include solicitation of corporate sponsorships for
special events and active participation in a results-oriented
development team.

Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications
or related education/ experience equivalency.

Experience: Minimum of five years of demonstrated successful
resource development, sales and/or account management experience.
Successful track record with planning, managing and initiating
corporate relationships with the non-profit sector is essential.
Successful experience working with ad motivating high level
corporate representatives, volunteer Board and committee members.
Experience with cause marketing is a plus. Successful experience
planning and leading significant fundraising events in a large
metropolitan area (Houston Market preferred).

Skills: Demonstrated ability to work effectively from remote
locations. Proficiency in multi-tasking and prioritizing tasks;
ability to think strategically; strong project and time management
skills; excellent verbal and written presentation skills; superior
interpersonal and relationship-building skills; problem resolution
skills and intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office. Demonstrated
high standards of ethics and integrity. Must be a self starter with
strong leadership, management, and communication skills. Ability to
build and manage project budgets is required.

Environment and Working Conditions: Full-time telecommuter must
live in Houston, TX area or be willing to relocate. Travel
estimated at 30% required (can be 6 - 8 days or more in a month -
including weekends - depending upon scheduling requirements). The
individual selected for this position must possess and maintain a
valid driver's license and be able to navigate areas of the country
by using a map or other direction methods.

Physical and Mental Requirements: High energy level, comfortable
planning, managing and performing multi-faceted projects in
conjunction with day-to-day activities. Superior interpersonal and
negotiation skills. Ability to get along with diverse
personalities, tactful and flexible. Good reasoning, abilities and
sound judgment. Physical requirements include: sight, hearing,
sitting for more than four hours each day and other physical
requirements required to complete essential functions of the
position.

Duties and Responsibilities:
· Develop and implement aggressive solicitation of corporate
support; develop and maintain knowledge of corporate giving
interests, staff and trends, with emphasis on Houston market and
the surrounding areas.

· Establish new fundraising golf event in Houston by planning,
soliciting, and directing all activities necessary to achieve
fundraising goals. Plan and direct the successful execution of
event logistics for all events including solicitation of corporate
sponsors, develop programs, entertainment, scripts, etc.

· Responsible for meeting annual corporate fundraising
goals.

· Develop, manage and evaluate strategic alliances with
corporations.

· Function as an integral member of corporate resource development
team; assist in all areas including planning, solicitation,
implementation and evaluation.

· Serve as primary contact for customer service issues for
corporate partners, handling directly or forwarding to appropriate
resource(s) for resolution.

· Monitor activity via reports and frequent customer contact;
develop and deliver formal performance reports to each assigned
account at least once annually.

· Develop and execute a communications strategy for assigned
corporate partners.

· Participate in negotiations and contract renewals for corporate
accounts.

· Create dynamic presentation packages for new corporate prospects
and renewals.

· Maintain effective working relationship with corporate partners'
management teams. This includes coordinating with appropriate
personnel at BGCA national headquarters, agencies, local Boys &
Girls Club organizations, and local media. Prompt response to
customer needs is paramount.

· Assist with other projects as required by Vice President,
Resource Development/ Southwest.

· Demonstrate BGCA mission driven values of integrity, excellence
