WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Kabam is looking for a hands on Development Director in a leadership role on a new game team. You will be entrusted to build a next generation online game, and the nimble technology team from the ground up. Your responsibilities include:
Building and leading an A+ team of engineers
Delivering high-visibility and high-quality products with tight milestones
Driving technical road map and approach with your team
Work with the rest of the project leadership team to build an exciting new game from concept to completion and beyond (live operations)
Staying up-to-date with relevant technologies and proactively suggesting architecture changes and new coding practices
Ensuring the proper tools are available for the development team
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
8+ years overall experience, at least 5 years in an engineering leadership role
Prior experience releasing high quality games (MMOs and/or browser F2P games preferred)
Comfortable with prototyping and rapid iteration
Experience leading teams in a fast and agile environment
Ability to communicate design decisions, trade-offs, code walk-throughs, bugs, thoroughly, clearly, and concisely
Designed and built web-scale infrastructures with LAMP stack experience
Comfortable with Ruby/Rails, Flash, and at least 1 more language
Comfortable with architectural designs and concepts, including database, OO, MVC, performance, scalability, security
B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent (Masters preferred)
