Under supervision of Manufacturing Engineering
Manager, Senior Leader, or Leader provide
engineering support to meet program requirements
for various programs. Assure primary
engineering for a particular program of product
is completed as required per established
priority and schedule. Develops all required
engineering to produce parts, components,
assemblies, sub-assemblies, and systems to meet
Required: Associate degree in Engineering
or related field, or equivalent experience.
Required: Six to eight years in a Manufacturing
discipline or Machine shop environment, or
equivalent combination of education and
experience as an Machinist or Engineer.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities
-Plan method of manufacture to include
peparation of project and manufacturing
implementation plans with milestones and
schedules to meet established objectives.
-Plan test/trials of manufacturing methods and
processes. Prepare procedures, routings, work
instructions, bills of materials, and various
documentation to facilitate program activities
-Plan fabrication techniques, conventional and
numerical control machining activities, heat
treatment, welding, chemical processing, and all
other required manufacturing processes.
-Plan tooling and fixturing including
development of concept and approval of final
tools and fixture designs. Consider perishable
and durable tooling requirements and machine
-Organize and conduct initial proofing of
manufacturing process, then assure the process
is repeatable and will yield conforming hardware
throughout production cycle.
-Perform continual analysis of existing process
to optimize manufacturing techniques to improve
efficiency, economy, quality, and safety.
-Organize all tasks to be able to complete
assigned duties and tasks to support program and
Direct activities to assure program and
department goals and objectives are realized.
Delegate duties as required to assure span of
control is maintained.
Support internal and external customers.
Performs other duties as assigned.
