Inktank provides support and services for Ceph, an open-source distributed object and file storage technology. This is a hands-on, software development position encompassing:
working with customers, support and Q/A to understand installation/administration requirements
design and implementation of the installation and configuration tools and processes
devops (automating installation and configuration through tools like Chef/Puppet/Juju)
design and implementation of the system monitoring and management tools
design performance and problem diagnostic tools and procedures
providing third level support for installation and administration issues
5+ years of software development experience (Python/Perl, C++, Java)
3+ years of Linux system administration or management software experience (preferably Debian/Ubuntu)
2+ years of network configuration, management and trouble-shooting experience
RAID controller configuration
KVM/Xen virtual machine and server creation,
configuration, and management using and creating Chef/Puppet/Juju automation
a desire to work with very smart people in a fast paced start-up
Secondary (extremely valuable) Skills and Experience
storage (e.g. NAS/SAN/file system) management
automatic device discovery (e.g. udev) and provisioning
distributed/clustered system experience
support or Q/A for Linux-based software products
