We are looking for a technical leader who is responsible for all work on design, code, code review, integration and production deployment of automation framework, scripts, test-suites associated with SquareTrade product line. Work with various engineering team members to design framework that support product automation in various stages of product development life cycle. Work with rest of the engineering teams to help with automation of code coverage, unit tests coverage and reporting.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:
Work with automation team to design, document, and execute automation frameworks for various products. Conduct framework review sessions and help with training & adaptation

Collaborate with product development, SQA teams to strategize & align long term solution for automation including roadmap, tools, framework & approach

Collaborate with IT, SQA, Release teams to establish automation eco-system

Management & maintenance of automation tools

Generate technical test automation specifications and assist in the definition of automation project goals, roadmaps and objectives

Help design, create and maintain test suites for product/system evaluations as well as customer qualifications

Support SQA teams in training and knowledge transfer of framework execution and application

Participate in automation project planning, tracking, and reporting. Communicate assigned task status, issues, and requirements in a timely manner.

Work independently and also demonstrate ability to be a mentor & lead a group of automation engineers as needed

Perform installation, upgrade, unit, functional, system, integration, performance, and regression testing as needed to support automation efforts

Participate in source code control, bug tracking, and software release activities as required for automation

Help with SQA team’s activities from product test perspective as needed

Support engineering groups as an escalation point of contact when complex problems associated with automation arises.

Develop new test cases automation based on common field problems

Contribute to prioritizing automatable baselines

Provide technical assistance& guidance to SQA to achieve automation goals

Work with management in research, assessment and recommendation for automation tools that would improve effectiveness and efficiency in engineering teams

Qualifications:
BS in Computer Science or equivalent. Advanced degree (MSCS) preferred

5-7 years prior experience in software development, automation and/or SQA

Hands on experience working with of source management systems & scripting techniques

Effective written and verbal communication skills – Ability to document automation framework, test harnesses, coding principles & standards.

Effective time management skills – prioritization of tasks and own time

Able to interpret requirements, document automation test plans, implement test designs and provide test status

Working knowledge of 3 or more of the following technology areas:

Automation tools: any commercial tools like QTP, TestNG, Selenium

Web application development tools: JBoss, Tomcat, Apache, POSTGRES, Ant.

Scripting languages: XML, HTML, SQL, Shell scripting

Operating Systems: Debian Linux

Desired skills: Experience with code coverage and profiling tools; Knowledge of Drupal;
