The Director of Respiratory Care Services is responsible for setting the vision and direction for the respiratory care department and for establishing and maintaining a culture of excellence. This person must have the ability to set high standards of practice which are evidence based and to hold staff accountable for those standards. The Director of Respiratory Care Services has 24-hour-a-day responsibility and accountability for the planning, coordination, direction, organization and evaluation of Respiratory Therapy, Pulmonary Function Laboratory, the Special Procedures Department, the ABG Labs, and for the Respiratory Therapy functions at the satellite locations. The Director maintains equipment, procedures, departmental systems and processes according to current technology. The Director works together with the Clinical Directors of Nursing to coordinate quality clinical care for patients and to manage the functioning of the Special Procedures Department.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree, 5 years as a Respiratory Therapist ; 2 years Management experience; Experience in computer applications; Possesses a working knowledge/understanding of current regulations including but not limited to Title 22 and Joint Commission standards; C.R.T. or R.R.T.; Current CA licensure as a Respiratory Care Practitioner or ability to obtain license in California ; Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
