Project management experience managing the Cost, Schedule, and Performance of fixed price and level of effort Information Technology (IT) projects. The candidate must possess the ability to manage the approved scope of work and funding against unapproved or out of scope customer requirements. Additionally, the candidate must possess excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to lead IT related discussions (e.g. software design documents, test plans, user stories, day-to-day effective business writing and telecoms). Have a working knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies, particularly the Full Scrum methodology.
Desired Skills: Ideal candidate will be a credentialed Program Management Professional (PMP), have a working knowledge of Earned Value Management (EVM) acronyms and calculations, training as a Control Account Manager, and have a minimum of six years of experience working in a business / program management position. Experience working within a DOD environment and an understanding of DOD Information Assurance is a plus. A firm understanding of relational databases and working knowledge of SQL (e.g. ability to write and execute basic SQL statements). Specific Job Description The work location is 5749 Briar Hill Road, Lexington, KY and most (95%) of the tasks will be completed on site. The Project Manager position supports Department of Defense web applications which provide the customer with asset visibility and procurement of Special Operations Forces equipment. The web applications are comprised of multiple modules, each designed with a unique purpose to provide the user with the tools required to complete critical business functions. The Project Manager will operate in an Agile software development environment (Scrum) and be responsible for understanding the business processes, user roles, functionality, and reports associated with the applications. The PM is responsible for keeping the customer informed, supporting the user base, and accurately diagnosing and documenting issues. In addition, the PM will oversee ancillary software development tasks such as the development / maintenance of user / training documentation, regression test plans and user stories (functional design documentation). The PM will conduct periodic status meetings with both internal and external customers to ensure expectations are set and managed. The PM will support requirements and proposal efforts associated with all modules available on the web application and work with the team analysts and developers to ensure customer expectations and requirements are met. The PM will be responsible for Cost, Schedule and Performance of the projects. The PM will be required to communicate and have a solid understanding of EVM in order to quantitatively communicate the project cost, schedule, and performance metrics.
