Minimum Education and Experience:
Associate's degree in computer science, information technology, or related discipline and one year of experience in the information technology field related to the area of assignment; or Bachelor's degree and one year of experience in the information technology field related to the area of assignment; or Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or related discipline; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Essential Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
This position is being recruited for at the Journey Competency Level under the Career Banding Program. The hiring range for this position is $43,203 - $55,000 and the salary grade equivalent is 63.

POSITION DESCRIPTION: This Technical Support Analyst will support the Department of Pediatrics faculty and staff. Primary responsibilities include: Technical support of client's hardware and software; Provide first line support for server issues, network connectivity, and computers connected to laboratory equipment; ensure full compliance with HIPAA regulations and associated standards from the University and School of Medicine; support faculty, staff, and students with audio/visual computing needs. ESSENTIAL SKILLS: It is essential the selected candidate possess: Experience supporting the information technology needs of a large, diverse academic-clinical department; experience supporting Windows and Mac Machines on a hybrid Mac - Windows Enterprise environment; experience/knowledge of Microsoft Windows 7; Microsoft Office Suite and MAC Office; OS X Lion; Active Directory 2008; knowledge of listserv management, database maintenance, pc ghost imaging, experience with the support of multiple hardware solutions, such as installation and support of desktops, laptops, handhelds, motherboards, network cards, video card, memory, hard drives, SCSI controllers and devices, network printers, tape backup systems, wireless routers, scanners, modems, digital cameras, CD/DVD burners; installation and support of software such as MS Windows operating system, MS Office, network client connectivity programs (Mozilla, Internet Explorer, FTP, network printing, AIS, WebCIS, GE, etc.) and virus protection. The selected candidate will have a demonstrated ability to strategically manage multiple competing priorities and make important decisions in a stressful environment, a history of successfully working independently with limited supervision/guidance, outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, experience functioning as part of a team, and a commitment to ongoing customer satisfaction. This role requires an individual who is dynamic, detail-oriented, will take ownership, employs good managerial and organizational skills, and works well with people from diverse backgrounds and pediatric specialties.

Preferred Qualifications:
The department prefers someone with recent (within the last three years) experience supporting the information technology needs of a large, diverse academic-clinical department and supporting Windows and Mac Machines on a hybrid Mac-Windows Enterprise environment.
