The Honeywell Aerospace Electronic Center of Excellence Business and General Aviation engineering team in Olathe, KS has an immediate opening for the challenging role of Sr. Systems Engineer. This position will be responsible to provide systems engineering content as part of a design team developing a next generation VHF NAV/COM Line Replaceable Unit (LRU). The candidate must have experience with systems level requirements, test, certification artifacts and reviews. Wide-ranging job responsibilities include:

VHF NAV/COM LRU Systems Engineering :
Systems level requirements, test, certification artifacts and reviews
Perform system test during Dry-Run and RFS
Collaboration with peer systems engineer on the higher level systems that use these LRUs
Leadership of the FAA certification process for these products
Support to end-user and certifying agency testing/certification
VHF NAV, VHF COM, VHF data link and ADF system level experience with understanding of:
End-user application
Marketing needs/expectations for competitive product
Certification requirements
Experience with the FAA, FCC and Honeywell product certification process for such equipment
Product design experience with ability to relate system level issues to design implementation solutions.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor of Science degree in an Engineering field
Minimum of 6-8 years of directly related experience in avionics/systems engineering
Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident due to export control requirements
Additional Qualifications
Systems level requirements, test, certification artifacts and reviews
FAA certification process
VHF NAV, VHF COM, VHF data link and ADF system level experience
Avionics/Radio Multi-function product design experience
