Electronic Resources (ER) Unit: The ER unit reports
to the Director of Acquisitions and is responsible for managing the electronic resources of the libraries.
The ER unit does data entry and maintenance on several databases to insure that correct links to resources are in place along with notes describing our access and license agreements. In addition the ER unit assists the invoice supervisor in verifying and setting up invoices in the library's local integrated library system, Voyager. The ER unit also provides information to library staff and users on electronic resources and trouble shoots problems reported by users.
? Track e-journal cancellations making sure all records in various ER databases and the library's catalog are updated
? Set and update thresholds in SFX linkserver, a database that provides information about access to electronic journals
? Update and verify records in DataCat, the library's database for its electronic resources.
? Assist with invoicing of electronic packages, if needed
? Assist with mail sorting, verifying or labeling materials as needed.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
? Demonstrated ability to work in collaboration with others to achieve stated goals
? Demonstrated ability to accurately and quickly updated database records
? Demonstrated ability to handle Excel spreadsheets
? Attention to detail
? Ability to identify and route problems correctly
Preferred Education / Experience
? At least 6 months working in a library environment (paid or unpaid)
