This position will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the quality function for the Specialty Synthesis Group. Responsibilities and tasks will include:
•Timely preparation and submission of analytical samples for raw materials, in-process batches, and finished goods
•Tabulation and basic analysis of analytical data
•Liaison between production groups and analytical group
•Raw material and batch approval to established specifications
•Participation in product scale-up review meetings
•Execution of in-process HPLC testing to established methods as needed
•Participation in root cause investigations and problem solving activities
•Retain sample management
Experience and Education
•Quality Control or Quality Assurance laboratory experience
•Leadership in QC/QA with decision making-responsibility is highly desirable
•Ability to make sense of conflicting or inconsistent information, and make timely decisions with available facts
•Demonstrated ability to go beyond normal procedures to ensure the accuracy and clarity of information
•Seeks out new challenges, or learns new techniques, tools, or processes in anticipation of future requirements
•Ability to communicate effectively through all levels of the organization and seeks out people with information rather than waiting for people to come to them.
•Detail oriented with strong sense of safety awareness
•Proficiency with MS Office software, particularly Excel.
The applicant must have experience working independently and performing quality assurance testing and product approval in chemical manufacturing. Experience in product/process scale-up and manufacturing operations is desirable, and demonstrated use of Sigma Logic tools for data analysis and problem solving is preferred.
