The Weitz Company is looking for an experienced Project Safety Manager to be located at our Wever, IA IFCo project .
The Project Safety Manager supplies site safety leadership and oversight for an assigned project(s). The Project Safety Manager functions as an expert resource to project teams for consistent implementation of company safety standards and programs, provides project-wide safety training, supports preconstruction safety planning, and performs jobsite safety auditing and incident investigating. The Project Safety Manager reports to the Project Superintendent or Project Manager and may manage other Project Safety Managers assigned to the project(s).
Communication, project management, judgment, initiative, time management, knowledge of Microsoft Office products, project organization, attention to detail, and public speaking to a variety of audience levels, flexibility, and problem solving are necessary skills for this position.
To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each previously stated duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and ability necessary to succeed as a Project Safety Manager:
Education: A High School diploma or equivalent work experience is required. An industry related college degree is preferred.
Experience: Work in a formal safety capacity and two years construction experience is preferred.
