POSITION PURPOSE

Provide operations team leadership and management for Converting to attain safety, quality, delivery, cost and human resource objectives.

SCOPE

Incumbent reports to the Product System Leader. He/she has broad operations or maintenance responsibility for one or more high-capacity and technically complex manufacturing processes used for producing a range of base materials. Typically, numerous raw materials are consumed in the process with each having several critical process variables to be monitored and controlled. Rate of technological and business changes vary across product lines, but can add significantly to the nature and variety of the challenges faced. The incumbent provides leadership for a meaningful team, which typically includes members from one or more functional groups. Objectives typically are focused at the department level.

QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

This position requires a bachelor’s degree. The incumbent also must have broad knowledge and significant experience in operations/maintenance or related areas at the functional level and a working knowledge of multifunctional issues. Demonstrated capability of superior performance in a team environment is essential. This person has a thorough understanding of all mill/plant functional areas and their interaction.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES – Operations Consultant – Converting
Safety: Promotes and participates in mill loss control management by utilizing Modern Safety Management Principles, World Class Manufacturing Principles, and compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.
Environmental: Comply with local, state, and federal environmental regulations as defined by mill policies, procedures, employee training, and site subject matter experts.
Diversity: Provide leadership in a way that helps the organization attract, develop, and retain the best people and fosters an environment which motivates a diverse team to fully use its capabilities in achieving desired business results.
Design and Development: Lead the initiation, design and development of manufacturing and supporting processes to achieve unit objectives.
Technical Knowledge: Develop knowledge and skills to be recognized for expertise and guidance in application of engineering and maintenance principles. Be the recognized authority for all equipment related projects associated with HYDROKNIT® Nonwoven Fabric manufacturing.
Security and Documentation: Provide guidance in security and documentation to ensure the retrieval of data and protection of proprietary information.
Problem Solving: Seek, recognize, define and solve problems/opportunities to achieve unit objectives.
Internal Control: Lead assigned projects/tasks to meet unit objectives within applicable Corporate policies. Place emphasis on CFI and Internal Control.
Communications: Communicate fully with supervisors, subordinates and others. Be informative without being obtrusive or vexatious. Communicate in a way that is timely, yet prompt; complete, yet concise; candid, yet accurate; and clear, yet responsive.
Human Resource Development: Assist in the development of others in the area of incumbent's expertise.
Customer Partnerships: Lead specific mill customer partnerships, responsible for being the mill contact and also liaison between Business Unit(s) and the customer.
Controlling: Develops specific action plans for critical work, adheres to the plan, anticipates problems and makes appropriate modifications to the plan as necessary. Holds others accountable for their specific deliverables within the plan.
Initiative: Takes action in a timely manner before being asked by others, or forced by events.
