This position provides leadership in the design, development, and
deployment of “just-in-time” training, customized training, and
functional-specific training for executive leaders, administrators, professional, and support staff.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
PROFESSIONAL LEARNING & DEVELOPMENT
Oversight of the development of learning & development efforts for the professional staff.
Development of critical metrics to guide efforts for improvement in programs offered
Oversees creation of a learning and development strategy in conjunction with a vision and action plan to implement dynamic learning systems contributing to the success of the college
Creates cultural value by adding competency development strategies while also leading the development of an infrastructure to support learning and development throughout the college
Designs and deploys professional development programs for current
and emerging leaders to strengthen leadership competencies.
Serves as a strategic business partner with the College President to
design, plan, and deploy professional development programs for
executive leaders: researches and recommends presentation topics,
identifies speakers, negotiates fees, prepares and executes contracts
(i.e. Annual Retreat; Monthly Cabinet Meetings, etc.).
Collaborates with colleagues across business lines (Informational
Technology Systems, Teaching and Learning and Academic Professional
Development, Academic Excellence Centers, Distance Learning, and
Technology Learning Centers) to develop and deliver technology
training for both full-time and part-time employees.
Supports the development and implementation of organizational
development and succession planning programs.
Collaborates with leaders in identifying and addressing current and
emerging organizational training and development needs.
Researches and benchmarks best practices involving learning and
Develops measures and evaluates the effectiveness of training and
Oversees the maintenance of the Learning Management System ( LMS ).
Directs and manages the Professional Development Award and
employee educational fund program.
Oversees the annual college-wide recognition of professional excellence
Supervises assigned staff including recruitment and selection,
conducting performance reviews, coaching and recognition.
Conducts continuing study of all HR policies, programs and practices and keeps executive leadership informed of process and new developments
Leads and directs staff; provides regular coaching and feedback
Partners in the development and implementation of compensation and benefits programs to ensure engagement of employees
Partners in the development and implementation of diversity and inclusion programs and processes
Partners in the development and implementation of organizational effectiveness and change management processes
Responsible for all financial budgets that relate to areas of responsibility. Ensures all expenses are budgeted correctly and actual expenses do not exceed plan
Assesses and re-engineers work processes as needed to improve service to client base
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field
10+ years HR generalist experience including successful HR strategic planning experience
Demonstrated ability to drive change through a geographically dispersed organization
Demonstrated ability to develop, foster and cultivate relationships. Proven leadership and effective coaching/counseling skills
Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Excellent project management, organizational and planning skills
Strong financial acumen
Sensitivity to respond appropriately to the needs of a diverse population
Experience in a collective bargaining environment
Understanding of higher education environment
Standard College Hours: 8:30AM – 5:00PM
