Director, Labor Relations The candidate provides direct labor relations leadership and business support to field Management by implementing effective labor and employee relations strategies; negotiating collective bargaining agreements; handling grievances and arbitrations; managing representation campaigns; conducting training; and communicating labor relations philosophy and policies. Responsible for collective bargaining including serving as chief negotiator or supervising outside counsel. Manages representation campaigns, elections and related matters; ensures the effective implementation of labor relations and positive employee relations strategies through training and partnering with internal customers and oversees grievances, arbitrations, and other disputes. Provides labor relations advice to internal customers; advises Management regarding labor relations aspects of acquisitions and divestitures and performs other job-related duties as assigned.
The candidate should have 6+ years of progressive labor relations experience that includes developing and implementing labor strategy, first chair negotiations experience, developing and implementing campaign strategy, conducting training. Juris Doctorate and SPHR certification preferred. Substantial experience with collective bargaining agreements is needed. Knowledge of labor relations as normally obtained through the completion of a bachelor's degree in business, Human Resources, or closely related field is required. Substantial experience handling election campaigns is essential. Experience working in a large decentralized multi-state organization is preferred. Must be Bi-Lingual English and Spanish.
