Lead client coverage and primary sales efforts for Union Bank's National Banking Group in the Midwest Region. The position will be responsible for business development and transaction generation in the broader Midwest Region. The position will have direct responsibility for deepening relationships across an existing client base. Additionally, the position will be tasked with expanding the client base further into the mid-corporate market segment in the Midwest Region.
Primary leader of marketing responsibility in mid-corporate segment for Chicago office and will have direct responsibility for the following:
Focus on prospecting for new clients while maintaining and expanding existing relationships. High priority on referral transactions to Union Bank Loan Syndications and Placements as well as Mitsubishi Securities (USA).
Contributing to the establishment of new client conversion goals focusing on a 2 - 3 year time horizon and executing on that plan.
Identifying areas for improvement in existing client strategies for Midwest portfolio.
Ensuring that the team is effectively cross selling the Bank's products including capital markets, interest rate and FX derivates, asset management and treasury management.
Market expert in Midwest Region
Develop and possess thorough knowledge of the mid-corporate marketplace within the Midwest region.
Continually possess up-to-date pipeline for targeted prospects in region.
Maintain significant contact with all market-players and intermediaries in the Midwest region.
Command knowledge of the key trends in the Midwest region and clearly articulate the implications for the Bank's strategy in that region.
The desired candidate will possess the following attributes:
Track record of successful new business development within Corporate and Investment Banking.
>10 years experience in this capacity
Senior relationship manager and/or team leader experience preferred
Significant experience with capital markets, bank loan syndications, FX and interest rate products, investment and treasury management services
Ability to represent the Bank's products and capabilities to a sophisticated client base of chief financial officers and chief executive officers of mid-corporate clients and prospects (typically $500MM - $2.0B in annual revenues).
Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills coupled with solid executive presence while making presentations.
