A Bachelor's degree in Nursing or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired is necessary. A Master's degree in Nursing is preferred.
Two to three years of nursing experience.
Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Missouri is required.

Assess trends in patient care, health care, delivery systems, nursing education and nursing practice to determine their impact on the goals of the division and departments of Nursing Services.
Assess individual learning needs of nursing personnel consistent with job descriptions.
Plan objectives for staff education using the process of program planning consisting of needs assessment, goals, objectives, teaching strategies, evaluation of learning, evaluation of implementation in nursing practice and budgetary needs.
Implement planned educational experience utilizing self or other content specialist and document cost of implementation.
Document progress in meeting long-term objectives and increased effectiveness of educational programs through subjective evaluation of participants, testing and clinical observation of implementation.
Provide on-going evaluation of educational programs and appropriately alter and/or modify program content as needed.
Evaluate own knowledge and skills and collaborate with Assistant Division Director to establish a plan for advancing own teaching and clinical skills.
Promote high standards of nursing care through role modeling and educational programs that are consistent with nursing policy and procedures and incorporate ANA standards.
Participate in nursing research through evaluation of studies and providing in-services to staff on advances in research related to specific service area.
Serve as a consultant to managers and/or unit educators to facilitate problem solving related to staff education. Interface within the organization, with the community?s and state?s professional nurses as an educational
