    The Montana Heart Center/Emergency Department Staff Development Coordinator works under the direction and supervision of the Director of the service line. The Staff Development Coordinator functions as an integral member of the patient care team, responsible for the clinical direction of staff members employed in their unit. The Staff Development Coordinator is accountable for patient care, outcomes, customer and employee satisfaction. This individual serves as the expert , a role model with excellent communication skills, a resource to the clinical team and family, and care integrator for patients. The Staff Development Coordinator exercises autonomy in performing the assigned responsibilities and functions cooperatively with staff and management to support the mission, vision, values and strategic plan of CMC. They work closely with all members of the Leadership Council. The functions of the Staff Development Coordinator are to provide nursing professional development and education services by assisting nurses in preparing for contemporary practice and supporting them in acquiring the knowledge and skills so that they can competently collect patient health data, analyze the data to determine nursing diagnosis, identify expected outcomes individualized to the patient, develop a plan of care that prescribes interventions to attain expected outcomes, implement the interventions identified in the plan of care, and evaluate the patient's progress toward attainment of the outcomes in the specific setting. The Staff Developer will also be involved in the development and education services of the unlicensed personnel. The Staff Development Coordinator will be expected to work with the bedside nurse when able. Staff Development Coordinator will be expected to work with the bedside nurse when able.

    Minimum Required: Graduate of an accredited nursing school. Licensed as an RN or eligible for licensure or eligible in the state of Montana. 5 years experience as a clinical nurse in emergency services, 2 years experience as a leader in the Charge Nurse role. BLS required upon hire. Healthcare Provider BLS within 3 months of hire. Demonstrated success with teambuilding, collaborative work with physicians and process improvement Proficient verbal and written communication skills. Proficient basic computer skills required (i.e. WORD, EXCEL, Power Point).

    Preferred/Desired: Healthcare Provider BLS upon hire.
