GENERAL FUNCTION: Welds metal parts together to fabricate or repair products according to layout, blueprints, or work orders. Complies with all safety rules and procedures. Maintains and completes all required records. Sets up and operates sheet metal fabricating machines, such as brakes, rolls, shears, saws, and heavy-duty presses to cut, bend, straighten, and form metal parts as specified by blueprints, layouts, and templates. Observes all standard safety practices.

Performs flat, fillet welds.
Requires general supervision.
Capable of setting up and operating simple, single operation equipment such as bandsaw, drill, double-ended or "C" frame presses.
Regularly performs as helper.
Ability to setup machine. Would be required to pass weld test. Capable of reading, understanding and following weld procedures. Ability to function as a team member. Establish and maintain effective working relationships. Regular and predictable attendance is required.
