Job Summary

Reporting to the Director of Industry Solutions, the Sales Engineer provides pre-sales technical support during the sales cycle, including demonstrating Recombinant's technologies/products/solutions, managing software evaluations with prospective customers, and overcoming technical sales objections. The Sales Engineer works with and supports the sales team by engaging prospects in both RFP and non-RFP driven sales opportunities. This individual will also collaborate with the sales staff when upsell and cross-sell opportunities are identified within Recombinant's current customer base.

Primary Responsibilities:

Accompany sales team members on scoping calls to help determine the optimal Recombinant solution based on the client's unique needs and processes.

Act as the primary technical resource on sales calls addressing technical questions.

Prepare technical pre-sales documentation to aid sales efforts which may include presentations, technical workflow diagrams, RFPs, RFIs, SOWs, etc.

Communicate technical aspects of product and service offerings to prospects, and develop and conduct technical product demonstrations for prospective customers and users.

Maintain knowledge of technology trends within our domain to differentiate Recombinant solutions from competitive offerings.

Collaborate with the software development group to drive enhancement requests for current/future demonstrations.

Provide post-sales transition assistance to the Delivery team, and occasionally provide post-sales customer implementation services and post-sales formal customer training.

Requirements:

Pre-Sales Engineering experience and background within the healthcare and life science domains

Familiarity with data warehousing and analytic solutions

Strong technical skills with Business Objects Business Intelligence tool , and experience with either SAP Data Services , Informatica , Kettle/Pentaho ETL Tools

Excellent oral and written communication skills, and strong presentation and customer relationship skills

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience

Ability to travel up to 50%

Sr. Consultant:
  • Senior Consultants will synthesize overall strategy by analyzing a wide variety of solutions, selecting the most relevant tools/techniques to meet specific client requirements such as business case, pricing, or complex financial analysis, and interpreting and reporting on outputs.
  • Senior Consultants will participate in setting engagement objectives and scope; develop work plans for components of engagements, coordinate activities between work streams and identify changes in scope.
  • Senior Consultants will also design deliverable content to precisely reflect the engagement contract and client needs and strive to improve deliverable quality through verification and validation of results.
  • Minimum of 3 years consulting and/or industry experience is required.
  • Bachelor's Degree is required.

In addition, successful Senior Consultants will also have the following preferred skills:
  • Ability to work independently; lead small teams focused on specific work streams of larger projects.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills (MS Visio, MS PowerPoint).
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to exercise mature judgment.
  • Eagerness to mentor junior staff.
  • An advanced degree is preferred.

Manager:
  • Managers will lead and deliver large, complex client engagements that identify, design, and implement creative business and technology solutions for large companies.
  • Manager level responsibilities include: providing service excellence by identifying key client business issues, determining client needs by supplementing the standard assessment techniques and tools with innovative approaches, evaluating and validating analysis and developing recommendations for the client in the context of the overall engagement.
  • Managers implement and oversee the quality of deliverables and effectively manage the team and day-to-day relationships to ensure exceptional performance.
  • Managers participate in the development and presentation of proposals for business development activities.
  • Managers can lead small engagements or components of large, complex engagements.
  • A minimum of 6 years consulting and/or industry experience is required.
  • A Bachelor's Degree is required.

In addition, successful Managers will also have the following preferred skills:
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills (MS Visio, MS PowerPoint).
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to exercise mature judgment.
  • Eagerness to mentor junior staff.
  • An advanced degree is preferred.

Sr. Manager:

Senior Managers are expected to contribute to the firm's growth and development in a variety of ways, including:
  • Engagement Management: Lead engagement planning and budgeting; mobilize and manage engagement teams; define deliverable structure and content; facilitate buy-in of proposed solutions from top management levels at the client; direct on-time, quality delivery of work products; manage engagement economics; manage engagement risk
  • Client Management: Manage day to day interactions with executive clients and sponsors
  • Business Development: Develop and maintain contact with top decision makers at key clients; organize and lead pursuit teams; participate and lead aspects of the proposal development process; contribute to the development of proposal pricing strategies
  • Practice Development & Eminence: Develop practical solutions and methodologies; develop "thoughtware" and "point-of-view" documents; participate in public speaking events; get published in industry periodicals
  • People Development: Perform role of counselor and coach; provide input and guidance into the staffing process; actively participate in staff recruitment and retention activities; provide leadership and support for delivery teams and staff in local offices
  • A minimum of 8 years consulting and/or industry experience is required.
  • A Bachelor's Degree is required.

In addition, successful Senior Managers will also have the following preferred skills:
  • Ability to work independently, manage small engagements or parts of large engagements.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills (MS Visio, MS PowerPoint).
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to exercise mature judgment.
  • Willingness to mentor junior staff.
  • An advanced degree is preferred.
