HP/ESSN/UDU/3PAR is looking to hire a full-time SW Engineering Support Specialist V to join our team and help us drive the next generation support model by building out our lab services across multiple remote sites, support our local labs within the Bay Area, and to help define and propagate those services needed to support our expansion efforts across multiple development teams.


Scripting and programming skills: The ability to write scripts and programs to help automate the deployment of services across multiple sites and proficiency in Shell scripting, Perl, Tcl/Tk, Expect, Python is a plus .


Advanced networking skills: The ability to design, implement, manage, and troubleshoot an IP network.

Must have real time experience with network routers, switches and firewalls.

Networking skills with STP, VLAN, RIP, OSPF, MPLS, EtherChannel, VLSM, IPv4, and IPv6.

Cisco and HP network switches and routers.

Manage and troubleshoot network using HP Openview, HP Intelligent Management Center, WireShark, and Wildpackets.

Hands-on experience with Cisco and HP networking.

Understanding of firewalls, TCP protocols and ports.


SAN skills: Experience with managing a HP Storageworks, Brocade and Cisco SAN environment.

Able to designing, configure and manage a SAN.

Fabric switch configuration, zoning, Fiber Channel, iSCSI and FCoE.


Operating Systems Skills:
Redhat 6.X, Solaris 10 & 11, ESX 5.X, HP-UX 11.23 & 11.31, AIX 6.X & 7.X, Debian, Windows Server 2008, 2008 R2 & 2012.


Network Services:


Ability to design, implement the network and computer services needed to bring up a new remote lab site.

This will include the ability to implement a HP C7000, ESX 5.X, SAN, Storage, NIS, DNS, DHCP, NFS, and Lantronix Terminal Servers.


Good program management skills would be required, an organized and methodical thought process is key, a self starter who is highly motivated to strategically plan and then adjust to resolve technical issues as they arise during the implementation process.

Someone who is willing to own and drive a complete solution as we expand our lab related growth across the HP landscape.


Must be out-going and willing to mentor less senior members of our team, have a positive attitude and collaborate with peers to find robust and implementable solutions as we expand our lab services.



Education and Experience:

A technical Bachelor’s degree or better with a minimum of 10-12 years experience in a related field, preferably in the area of engineering support and lab related architecture design and implementation.

Generally educated in Computer Science, with emphasis in System and Networking Administration.
