seeks a tech savvy individual who is good at website maintenance and is familiar with and/or able to quickly learn to use tools for Web content management, social media, and photography and video editing and uploading, to serve as

Asia Outreach/Website Maintenance Assistant

for the Asia Bureau's Office of Strategic Planning and Operations (SPO) at the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID).

The

Asia Outreach/Website Maintenance Assistant

will be responsible for supporting the outreach activities of USAID's Asia Bureau under the technical direction of the Outreach Team Leader for Asia and the Middle East (AME), and in collaboration with the AME outreach team.

Responsibilities:
As an employee of IDSG Engility, the

Asia Outreach/Maintenance Assistant

is not authorized and must not supervise, commit, or represent resources on behalf of the Government, or perform inherently governmental functions in any shape or form. Work must be performed under the supervision of a USAID Direct Hire (USDH). Within these limitations, the incumbent's responsibilities include:

Website Maintenance, Computer, and Graphics Support

Maintaining up-to-date content on the Asia Bureau's external and internal websites in collaboration with web contractors, Missions, and Bureau communications staff

Tracking content to ensure timely posting on the public website

Updating information for the Bureau's intranet using WordPress

Creating "Prezis" for the Asia Bureau using the Prezi cloud-based presentation software

Editing and manipulating images and graphics for use in outreach products

Creating and maintaining a photo gallery

Coordinating and posting information on USAID's social media tools

Photography/videography support

Legislative Affairs Support

Organizing and posting Congressional documents on Bureau's internal network

Analyzing and documenting Congressional committee issues for Asia

Creating a library of Congressional responses by country to be shared with Missions

Creating a Congressional Committee Directory for Mission use

Meeting and Events Support

Performing specialized duties to coordinate and support meetings and conference activities

Escorting guests and coordinating information packets

Researching outreach event opportunities

Other

Contributing administrative support

Performing records management and other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a field relevant to communications and outreach, with a focus on technology and tools. Degrees relevant to international development (international relations, political sciences, communications, social sciences, economics, etc.) also acceptable with substantial coursework and/or practice with web and social media technology

Up to two years of relevant experience; some prior experience in an office setting is desirable

Proficiency in Web content management software applications such as Drupal, Google Docs, web content tools, social media platforms, Power Point, etc.

Interest in and understanding of political, social, and economic issues in the developing world is desirable, particularly in the Asia region

Knowledge of international development issues

Knowledge of the organization and operation of USAID is a plus

Proactive, initiative taking, attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, excellent written and oral communication skills

Ability to work effectively both individually and as a member of a team

Must be able to plan, organize, and use time effectively

Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and work within tight deadlines

Willingness and ability to travel, if required, to the Asia Region

Ability to obtain a SECRET-level security clearance

(U.S. citizenship required)

Candidates will be subject to a security investigation and must be able to meet the eligibility requirements to initially obtain an interim security clearance and subsequently maintain a final secret-level security clearance issued by the U.S. Government (U.S. citizenship required).
