Title: Planning Manager Purpose and Scope: The Planning Manager is responsible for the planning and management of the sales, margin and inventory in order to optimize revenue, profits, inventory management, operational efficiencies, and long term growth of Rue La La. Qualifying individuals should be highly motivated for business success and possess dynamic planning, communication and teamwork attributes that will enable them to work effectively in a team environment with the Merchandising and Event Production teams.
Principal Responsibilities:
  • Work with the Merchandising and Event Production teams to develop and execute plans at the department, brand and event level, including sales, margin, inventory, and event profitability.
  • Develop recommend buy strategies by brand in order to optimize results for Rue La La and our brand partners
  • Manage inventory in order to optimize turn, aging , and profitable residual sellthrough
Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or another quantitative field preferred
  • 7+ years in a retail environment, preferably with a fashion retailer
  • Excellent planning and analytical skills
  • Proven leadership and communication skills
  • Strong team player
  • Expert Excel skills & planning system experience
  • Experience using data warehouse, eg. Cognos, preferred
