Career Opportunity US Tax Sr Supervisor HR Location: Pittsburgh, PA Job Number: 1006663 Job Description: The incumbent is responsible for supervising staff in the performance of all functions supporting the company's Payroll and Benefits operations serving over 30,000 employees in 60 plus domestic based companies. Key functions may include overseeing and monitoring tax staff to perform the following: tax analysis and funding of tax related data supported by a third party payroll tax vendor. Ensure taxes are properly withheld, documented and remitted to the IRS, state and local municipalities in a timely manner. Coordinate W2/940/941 filing throughout the year within tight timeframes.

Validate and attest on a monthly basis that all funding, accounting and account reconcilements are in accordance with Company policy. Assist with escalation issues arising from the more complicated accounts. Maintain group procedures. Ensure that policies and regulations are being followed (including federal, state and local tax reporting).

S/he is responsible to identify potential areas of exposure to BNY Mellon and oversee implementation of new controls and procedures to improve efficiency and reduce risk. S/he will contribute to the development of new procedures including recommendations, testing of systems enhancements and new products and implementation. This individual will possess detailed knowledge to ensure IRS compliance and is responsible for fully understanding the US tax documentation, withholding, and reporting processes. S/he will work closely with other operating groups, Finance, Risk Management and Corporate Tax.

Facilitate training of new employees and ensuring proper cross training of processes. S/he will complete Performance Management Reviews for each employee including establishing goals and midyear reviews. S/he will be responsible for motivating staff, working with the manager on various HR issues, and adhering to department budgets. S/he will be responsible for contributing to the monthly reporting tools such as KPI's (Key Performance Indicators) and monthly highlights.
