The Professional Education Worker facilitates substance abuse treatment groups and psycho-education groups in an Outpatient Court Treatment Program. Must complete all required documentation in the required timeframes. Provides client progress information to program managers for court officials. Demonstrates understanding and effectiveness in dealing with co-occurring disorders. Reviews client’s assigned paperwork requirement.

This is a hourly paid work performing professional education instruction and testing services. Positions in this job are established for less than 9 months or scheduled for less than 30 hours per week and are not eligible for benefits.

Agency Specific Qualifications and/or Preferred Qualifications: Agency Specific Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in counseling or a closely related field (social work, psychology) which included a clinical internship.

***Qualifying applicants with experience in a drug and alcohol treatment program or with court/mandated treatment programs may receive priority consideration for interview.***

Preferred Qualifications:
Associate or full licensure in Social Work or Counseling with the State of Georgia.

Certification as Addiction Counselor from the National Association of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselors or a NAADAC-affiliated organization.

Master’s degree in Counseling or a closely related field (social work, psychology).

Counseling experience with alcohol and drug treatment programs.

Experience working with legally mandated clients.

Familiarity with 12-step program coordination.

Experience with Treatment/Accountability Courts.
