Switch Network Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES : The Switch Network Engineer is responsible for i nstalling, troubleshooting, repair ing and maintaining all telecom equipment (both TDM and VoIP) at our customers’ locations. They will also engineer, design, troubleshoot and mak e recommendations to the customer so that their networks will properly support VoIP technology. The Network Engineer set s up customer hardware, and install, troubleshoot and configure software applications. In addition, they will i nstall, troubleshoot, repair and maintain software applications associated with the TDM and VoIP telephone systems such as NEC UCB, ACD, Voice Mail, OpenWo rX and other software programs associated with the telephone systems.

REQUIREMENTS : Bachelor of Science Degree or equivalent experience is requir ed. At least 15 years experience with NEC PBX’s (2400, SV7000, SV8100, SV8300 or SV8500) is required. N etworking , software and hardware experience is required. Also, MCSE, CCNA, or CCNP certification is preferred. Must be a team player with a positive attitude and able to demonstrate excellent customer service and have strong written and verbal communication skills, a keen attention to detail and great organizational habit. This position requires the successful candidate to be able to multi-task, work within externally developed deadlines, and respond promptly and efficiently to change.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS : Regular travel to off-site locations may be required . Ability to read, write, and communicate both orally and written to external and i nternal customers and employees. Normal vision and n ormal hearing with or without correction . Ability to lift and/or carry up to 25 lbs., periodically, throughout workday . Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, sit in one place, squat and kneel continuously throughout day . Ability to reach, bend, and twist continuously throughout day . Ability to use hands and feet together for repetitive, coordinated motions. Ability to use hands for gripping and squeezing, as well as repetitive hand and wrist motions. Ability to work together effectively and professionally with internal and external customers. Ability to communicate verbally through use of phone, e-mail, and fax systems continuously throughout day . Must have the ability to prioritize projects in order of importance and the ability to change from one project to another at a moments notice. Ability to drive for business purposes and maintain a good driving record.
