This job description is intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by the individual assigned to this position. Job responsibilities are intended to describe those functions that are essential to the performance of this job. The Loan Servicing Oversight Manager must have extensive work experience with mortgage loans and consumer loans, credit underwriting, loan modifications, foreclosure, bankruptcy, repossession, file review, and financial analysis. This person will be assigned to analyze the current processing and handling of a large portfolio of secured and unsecured loans and implement best practices. Must be knowledgeable in banking and credit union industry standards and be able to speak on a wide variety of loan subjects such as mortgage loans, consumer loans, credit underwriting, loan modifications, foreclosure, bankruptcy, and file review. Must have the experience and confidence to audit the work of a team of loan servicers, collectors, and specialty agents to discover specific challenges in internal routines. Define processes for workers who search records and examine titles, assigning, scheduling, and evaluating work, and providing technical guidance as necessary. Develop process for yearly escrow analysis for all applicable mortgage loans in the portfolio and make recommendations to the Client for the addition of escrow accounts as applicable. Audit escrow analysis statements to ensure the appropriate tax and insurance along with the appropriate cushion are being billed and collected. Establish guidelines for the handling of all tax, insurance, mortgage insurance, and hazard insurance claims. Review all mortgage accounts to ensure that all required disbursements are made in a timely manner. Ensure that loan files are audited to confirm that all electronic records match the original loan documents. Process end of year IRS tax forms for all applicable loans. Audit collection process to ensure any foreclosure process complies with all state and federal laws while maintaining compliance with Clients policies, insurer, agency, and company guidelines. Define best practices for contacting taxing authorities/POAs/HOAs to ensure that there are no liens as applicable. Audit pre-foreclosure files to ensure all default timeframes have been met. Work to research and resolve high priority issues in a timely manner. Ensure that non-conventional loans and modified loans (ARMS/balloons/etc) are input into system of record and managed for interest rate adjustments and balloon dates. Ensure that required letters are set up, approved, and being mailed on all applicable accounts. Other job duties/responsibilities as assigned.
A Bachelors Degree in business administration or any management science required (or equivalent work experience). Five (5) years of work experience in a banking, credit union, or mortgage environment (with verifiable experience working with mortgage loans) to include five (5) years of management experience required. Preferred Title Examiner, Abstractor, or loan Officer experience. Good working knowledge of FICS or Aftech is a plus. Skills & Abilities: Must be able to work in a high-stress environment with strict deadlines. Demonstrate confidence and assertiveness in an interpersonal manner. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Collaborative attitude and desire to contribute outside primary areas of responsibility. Well organized with excellent attention to detail. Requires excellent computer skills and strong knowledge of Word, Excel, and Access, plus understanding of loan servicing systems. Must have sufficient computational skills and working knowledge of asset management modules of an ERP systems Excellent communication, diplomatic and negotiation skills. Excellent organizational, leadership, supervisory and managerial skills. Regular attendance during regularly scheduled business hours. Subject to in-person supervision during working hours. In-person interaction with client and Management. Hiring process requires that applicants must be able to pass an extensive background and fingerprinting check.
