The COT works under the supervision of the Storm Eye Nurse Manager to perform ophthalmic clinical duties including visual acuity testing, install ocular medications, obtain ocular, medical and family history, perform manifest refractometry, instruct patients regarding medications, tests and procedures, coordinate patient flow, measure intraocular pressure by applanation tonometry and Tonopen, participate in telephone triage, measure pinhole acuity, measure, compare and test pupils, refill ophthalmic medications per standing orders.
