      Northrop Grumman Information Systems Sector is seeking a Hardware / Electrical Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The person selected will provide support for one of our classified contracts in Colorado Springs, CO.


      Responsible for developing and upgrading hardware associated with Phased Array Radar Systems. Responsible as Eglin Hardware Electrical Engineer for designing, developing, installing, maintaining and sustaining the Eglin Site used for Space Surveillance System. Responsible for the analysis, integration of components, equipment, and hardware for an embedded DSP subsystem. Experience with a variety of test equipment to troubleshoot and repair. Required to support the accomplishment of hardware sustainment efforts and perform and support hazard and safety assessments associated with the site. Responsible for supporting hardware deployment to site.

      Develops designs based on the requirements and associated architectures allocated to the subsystem level. Design activities may include design analyses, modeling, simulations, drawing development, and building new boards or prototyping activities.
      • Support digital, analog, RF and RADAR reverse engineering of obsolete components; creates new specifications for purpose of procurement of functional replacement of obsolete components. Develops and presents technical briefings to upper management, government representatives, and Air Force personnel.
      • Determines the technical objectives and top level project requirements necessary to satisfy Customer requirements, deliverables, and expectations for sustainment and modernization hardware projects.
      • Works within an evolving and highly process oriented environment that follows IEEE based Engineering product lifecycle.
      • Trouble shoot problems/issues associated with the radar system and provide analytical basis for problem resolution or replacement.
      • Use analytical equipment to troubleshoot and analyze system and component problems (signal analyzers, oscilloscopes, protocol analyzers, etc.)
      • Generate required mobile depot maintenance planning documents such as detailed trip maintenance plan, daily activity reports, trip close-out reports.
      • Support unplanned emergency or urgent depot level maintenance actions as necessary.
      • Support efforts to formulate a new solutions using modern devices and assist in identifying obsolete or non-supportable components.
      • Knowledge and understanding of National Industrial Security Program and DoD Directives.
      • Performs other duties as assigned
      - Must be a US citizen
      - Bachelors degree with 5 years related experience; Masters with 3 years related experience; or PhD (Relevant equivalent experience may apply)
      - Knowledge and experience with DSP, Matlab, VHDL, and VxWorks
      - Must be able to attain and maintain a SECRET security clearance within 6 months of submitting paperwork
      - Must work well in a team environment
