Job Summary

This position is responsible for the recording and analysis of financial information, preparation of financial statements and reporting, as well as ad hoc financial analysis. This individual will also implement of established accounting policies and procedures to maintain accurate financial data to provide management reliable data for decision making in support of achieving financial goals.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform general accounting duties related to complex accounts and procedures in a complete, accurate and timely manner
  • Complete month-end close processes to include journal entries and balance sheet and income statement analyses
  • Complete balance sheet account reconciliations to ensure all entries posted are correct
  • Assist with the preparation of financial statements, financial reports, consolidating schedules, SPE reporting, special analyses, and management reporting
  • Prepare financial analysis at various levels
  • Assist with the accounting component of the external audit
  • Work with other areas to ensure that all audit requests are fulfilled and the audit is completed within time and budget requirements
  • Assist with the maintenance of accounting systems, including the general ledger, custom report writer, and the Blackline reconciliation tool
  • Research new accounting pronouncements and regulatory requirements. Ensure compliance with latest financial accounting and reporting standards
  • Perform GAAP research on transactions to ensure the proper application of accounting guidance
  • Maintain the accuracy and integrity of financial data. Create and maintain daily supporting schedules
  • Develop Microsoft Access and Excel applications as needed
  • Identify and resolve accounting issues or process deficiencies with the assistance of others within the finance function or with the appropriate people in other areas of the Organization
  • Participate in special projects as required

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting is required and some formal computer training and/or experience are preferred
  • 4+ years related Accounting experience - preferably in public accounting; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • CPA or CPA eligible a plus
  • Demonstrated strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to research account variances and out-of-balance situations
  • Strong level of personal organization with excellent oral/written communication skills
  • Must be detail oriented, with the ability to handle multiple assignments promptly and effectively
  • Demonstrated ability to work calmly in a fast-paced team environment while effectively managing multiple projects
  • Advanced level of knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel and an intermediate level knowledge of Access is required
  • Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles is required
