Bradford Regional Medical Center Bradford Regional Medical Center (BRMC), a member of the Upper Allegheny Health System, is an exemplary community hospital located in Bradford, Pennsylvania. Founded in 1887, BRMC is currently celebrating its 125 th anniversary of care and service to the 68,000 residents of the hospital’s service area. BRMC’s mission is to provide high quality health care services to improve the health of the communities it serves. The hospital includes a 107-bed acute-care hospital, a 95-bed skilled nursing facility, and a home care agency.
It also includes a multispecialty physician practice and two ambulatory care centers. The hospital provides a comprehensive array of programs and services including medical/surgical, obstetrical, pediatric, and behavioral health services. Significant investment has recently been made in new diagnostic imaging equipment, a cardiac catheterization and vascular laboratory, and smart pump technology. The hospital has a medical staff of approximately 150 clinicians, of which approximately 50 are active medical staff members.
The Vice President of Patient Care Services/Chief Nursing Officer (VP/CNO) is a critically important member of both the hospital’s and health system’s senior management teams. The position reports directly to the BRMC Chief Operating Officer. He/She will proactively identify progressive and evidence based approaches to deliver patient care and enhance overall patient satisfaction as well as the culture of nursing. The CNO will have a “patient first” philosophy, foster strong partnerships with the medical staff and bring an inclusive and collaborative approach to the nursing organization.
The ideal candidate will possess strategic visioning skills and the ability to get “down in the trenches” and work with staff and managers to assess nursing/patient care policies, procedures and systems. A key measure of success will lie in achieving national benchmarks in quality, safety, and patient engagement. He/She should be a hard working and self motivated leader. The ideal candidate will bring at least 3-7 years of progressive experience in nursing operations and management. A Masters degree in Nursing or related field is preferred, along with a current Pennsylvania RN license or the ability to attain one. Position Summary The VP/CNO provides strategic leadership as the patient care executive position responsible for all nursing and other designated patient care functions/services within the hospital organization.
He/She provides direction, leadership, planning, organization, and general management for all aspects of patient care ensuring the integration of services and compliance with long range objectives and strategies. The role represents nursing/patient care on the executive management team at both the hospital and health system level, at the medical executive committee, at various medical staff committees, and at Board of Directors’ meetings. He/She has responsibility for regulatory, quality, service, resources, nursing staff competency and evaluation of the overall delivery of nursing care and patient services.
