Surgical Technologist at Swedish/Edmonds in Edmonds, WA.

The Surgical Technologist participates as a member of the perioperative nursing team and performs indirect perioperative tasks for patients who are having surgical and surgical endoscopy procedures

In this position you will:
Selects and prepares supplies and equipment for surgical procedures. Assists in preparing Operating Room for surgical procedures, ensuring sterile environment at all times

Sets up sterile field with instruments, sutures, blades, electrosurgical equipment, suction, prosthesis and solutions needed for procedures according to established procedures

Counts sponges, needles, sharps, instruments, and other items with circulator prior to procedure and before incision is closed. Maintains an accurate account of the amount of irrigation used during a procedures.

Performs scrub services

Prepares instruments for cleaning and terminal sterilization. Assists circulator with proper disposition of reusable and disposable items at the end of a case.


qualifications for this position include:
High school diploma or equivalent

Graduation from a surgical technology program or a combination of education and directly related work experience.

Prior experience as surgical technologist in an acute care facility

Valid Surgical Technologist Registration with the State of Washington

Current BLS certification


qualifications for this position include:
Surgery Technologist certification

Previous experience as a surgical technologist in a Birth Center environment including experience with Cesarean sections (C-sections)
