Join the dynamic and rapidly growing academic perinatal team at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, California, a non-profit, 977-bed hospital. Cedars-Sinai was re-awarded the Magnet Excellence in Nursing designation from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). One of only six hospitals to receive this designation three times. Our perinatal unit consists of 11 LDRs, 8 Labor Rooms, 3 ORs, PACU and a busy Maternal Fetal Care Unit. The L&D unit delivers an average of 7,200 babies annually.
In this position, you will assist the obstetric team in all aspects of patient care, facilitating resident work-hour limitations, while supporting their learning opportunities.

Responsibilities:
Attend rounds
Perform triage evaluations in L&D
Evaluate patients with acute problems & refer/co-manage as situation dictates
Follow the progress of laboring patients in L&D
Perform spontaneous vaginal deliveries as needed
Act as First Assist at cesarean sections
Active participant in the education of residents, medical students, & nurses, throughout the birth process
Co-manage patients with residents/fellows/attendings
Participate/initiate research studies
Promote Evidenced Based Practice
Act as Mentor / Clinical expert for nursing staff.
Education and Work Experience: Qualifications:
Masters Degree
Graduate from an ACNM-accredited School of Midwifery
Certified by the ACNM designated certifying agent
CA RN & Nurse Midwife Licensure
CA Furnishing & DEA Licensure
BLS & NRP Certification
Advanced Fetal Monitoring
Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience (high-risk, high-volume IP experience preferred)
Experience with resident/medical student education helpful
3rd trimester Limited Ultrasound Certification &/or evidence of advanced training
