Operates, monitors and maintains three 11,000 PPH wood waste/coal fueled high pressure steam boilers and all related support equipment regulated in the Title 54 Air Pollution Control Act. Supervises the work of offenders performing routine daily tasks. Provides continuous Steam flow to the Institution in a safe and reliable manner. Provides assistance and guidance, especially with respect to keys and vehicles to other departments at Augusta Correctional Center.
High school diploma or equivalent. Valid driver's license. Working knowledge of power plant operations and associated equipment. Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, analyze and repair equipment as necessary. Skills necessary to perform preventive maintenance on Power Plant equipment. Demonstrate the ability to read and follow written procedures and prioritize work assignments. Demonstrated ability to complete work assignments with minimal guidance from others. Knowledge and ability to interpret and apply operating procedures and policies. Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Some computer skills required.
Prefer experience in Power Plant operations. Prefer State certified Boiler Operator License. General electrical and plumbing experience is preferred.
