Job Title: Operator 1
General Purpose of Job:
Assemble complete or specific portions of products using hand tools and production machines. Upon completion may measure and test products.
Reports to: Production Team leader, Lead Operator or Process Team Leader
Direct Reports: None
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assemble products by cutting and bending wires, etching, spotwelding, crimping, stamping, marking, soldering, polishing, brazing, staking, grinding, trimming, connecting connectors, inserting misc. items, kitting, etc.
Finish product to make sure it meets all quality standards and looks good.
Prepare products by sanding, sand blasting, chemical cleaning, wiping, etc.
Test products for proper electrical performance, proper dimensions, etc.
Keep area and equipment clean and organized.
Rework non-conforming materials, products, parts, etc, to create a finished product
Check and fill out necessary reports, manufacturing orders, designs routings, scrap, production times, rejects, etc.
Works under direct supervision on standardized duties and tasks using established procedures or written instructions.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
High school education or equivalent required.
Ability to use production equipment, hand tools, testing devises and other miscellaneous equipment and tools.
Resolves routine questions and problems and applies basic skills in procedures, techniques, tools, materials, and/or equipment in appropriate area of specialization.
Good math, measurement and written/verbal comprehension skills.
Good analytical and problem solving skills.
Understanding manufacturing orders, routings, special chances and other miscellaneous forms.
Familiar with MacPac and various other system packages as needed.
Familiar with stockroom and inventory procedures so necessary parts and materials can be obtained.
Good planning and organizational skills.
Demonstrated ability to effectively interact and communicate with all organization levels.
Demonstrated understanding and ability to use TQMS tools and techniques.
Demonstrated ability to work in a team-based environment.
