This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and supporting services and technical infrastructure initiatives at Epicor. Primarily Red Hat Linux and some Windows. Candidate will add value to Epicor's technical infrastructure, hardware, and system software components through small to moderately complex projects. Additionally, will provide support for issue escalations and break/fix performing root cause analysis for service interruption recovery; creating preventative measures and presenting to management. Requires the ability to present ideas and coordinate projects. Update manager on project activities and status along with escalated issues. May operate in a lead capacity guiding other associates. Assist with determining technical direction associated with Linux Server platform.
This focus of this position will be Linux Server Platform, along with associated applications – Linux LVM, Apache, NFS, Samba, SMTP, IIS, SSL, 3rd party vendors, and custom developed. Candidate will perform full system/project life-cycle phases (analysis, design, construction, implementation, support) for Epicor's technical infrastructure, hardware, system software components, and application software components for small to moderately complex projects; interfacing with other teams and business stakeholders.
Essential Responsibilities :
Daily systems administration: Performs routine monitoring, administration, repair and maintenance of the products within the managed environments, account management, performance tuning, and application deployments.
The Tier 3 administrator will serve as an escalation point for Tier 2 NOC team.
Coordinate and work projects focused in the Linux, Solaris and Windows Server platform space. Includes refresh for existing systems as well as new deployments.
Modifies, maintains and updates software, firmware, drivers, anti-virus and system updates coordinating through a practice of Change Management, Configuration Management and Release Management.
Scripting administrative tasks within the Windows/Linux/UNIX Server platform.
Creates and updates existing documentation of process and procedures in support of administrations tasks.
Implements hardware and software solutions into the managed environments to meet customer needs.
Responsible for maintaining Service Delivery to meet customer Service Level requirements.
Provide day to day support of the Symantec Netbackup environment.
Clearly document maintenance and support procedures for routine tasks in order to leverage tier 2 NOC support.
Participate in a 24x7 on-call support rotation and off-hours maintenance windows.
Requires good oral and written communication skills to work effectively with others inside and outside departmental boundaries, at remote locations and/or outside the company.
Requires proficiency with PC software applications, E-Mail and job associated applications/systems to expediently process work.
Requires good organization skills to produce quality work, within required specifications, to meet tight schedules.

Job requires solid technical knowledge of appropriate hardware and software to support the systems that meets the business requirements. Various Server Technologies - Apache, SSH, FTP, Telnet, SSL, Active Directory, – along with other web-based applications.
Requires scripting expertise within the Linux platform.
Requires administrative familiarity/experience with other server platforms and related technologies - AIX/Solaris/Linux/SAN/Backups/Monitoring.
