Our Environmental Services group is dedicated to managing environmental issues professionally and proactively. Our staff of professionals includes specialists in marine biology, wetland science, wildlife biology, soil science, fisheries biology, botany, hydrogeology, hydrology, forestry, habitat and ecosystem restoration, permitting, GIS, and Information Management. We help our clients to identify and respond to opportunities and threats within constantly changing regulatory and corporate environments, through active engagement with the public, stakeholder groups, and governmental regulators. Our team members have the opportunity to be involved in a variety of projects that may include endangered species assessments, habitat restoration, wetland characterizations, and water resources management. We are seeking exceptionally talented and enthusiastic individuals with a keen interest in the natural sciences to join our team and advance their career.

Responsibilities:

Current project work in our Environmental Services water resource group includes large- and small-scale wetland delineation, natural community mapping, vernal pool assessment, RTE species surveys, environmental permitting, and wetland mitigation/restoration. This internship is a paid position. Compensation will depend upon the capabilities of the applicant.

Qualifications:

This position requires the willingness to travel throughout the Northeast and Northcentral region and the ability to spend long days on foot through inclement weather. Primary function on projects will be to collect GPS data with a backpack unit and work with an experienced wetland scientist on delineations throughout the Northeast.

Interest and willingness to traverse varied terrain, in a variety of conditions. A good sense of humor, positive attitude and ability to work closely with a small group of people is necessary. Willing to take direction and work with a team and communicate with all personality types. Demonstrated experience navigating through backcountry is helpful but not required, must be willing to learn.
