Job Summary

The VP, Marketing and Product Management is responsible for the product development strategy and execution of Comdata’s product solutions. This individual plans and directs product management and marketing activities and conducts competitive analysis to drive effective product strategy. This role manages the strategic product roadmap, product development, product launch, and product marketing in order to gain maximum benefit from each product. The Vice President of Marketing and Product Management is also responsible for general marketing, research, brand advertising, budgets, marketing communications, and personnel management.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Provide pricing and financial analysis on the development of new product offerings and/or product offerings in new market segments
  • Evaluate the financial impact of buy/ build/ partner decisions
  • Responsible for market and competitive analysis, designing product strategies utilizing the VOC to drive cardholder adoption, and third party relationships to drive product growth
  • Develop and evaluate the financial impact of product pricing strategies; develops strategy relating to payment solutions, coordinates between implementation, IT and MasterCard on data integrity issues, and responsible for short and long term strategic direction of products
  • Acts as primary interface between internal business units, external clients, MasterCard and Comdata for coordination of system changes, verification of system/product functionality, product training and support
  • Works with existing and potential clients to solicit ideas for product enhancements or specific customizations
  • Responsible for pre-sales and sales support including thought leadership, presentations, demonstrations of the product solutions and its value to prospects and markets
  • Works with sales and operations to develop and implement sales support strategies
  • Supervises and directs specified research projects including customer satisfaction, new market opportunities, product studies, industry overviews, and others as assigned
  • Develop, evaluate and recommend economic frameworks for product-intensive partnership/ marketing alliance relationships
  • Reviews all marketing pieces developed within the department

  • Bachelors Degree in finance, business management, or marketing is required
  • Master’s Degree preferred
  • 10+ years experience in marketing, advertising, brand management, and product development/management
  • Must have strong knowledge of the transportation or financial transaction processing industry and/or equivalent combination of education and experience and/or training
  • Strong level of personal organization with excellent oral/written communication skills
  • Must be detail oriented, with the ability to handle multiple assignments promptly and effectively
  • Must be able to manage projects and department costs within the given budget and develop and execute annual budgets in alignment with corporation strategies while demonstrating excellent leadership skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work calmly in a fast-paced team environment while effectively managing multiple projects
  • Must have the ability to speak before a group and make presentations
  • Ability to interface with and coordinate between both internal business units and external customers
  • Applications development and project management experience is preferred
