Cargill Corn Milling North America is a manufacturer of value-added corn and sugar based products serving the Food, Feed and Fermentation segments. From facilities in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, Tennessee and Texas, we provide a wide variety of products and services including high fructose corn syrup, corn syrups, dextrose syrups and sucrose that are used in an array of beverage, brewing, confectionery, food and pharmaceutical applications. We also produce a variety of innovative, dry corn ingredients that are used in cereals, snacks, breads, tortillas and animal feed applications. In addition, we produce fuel-grade ethanol and are a leading supplier of corn oil, acidulates, corn gluten meal and corn gluten feed products.
This PDG engineering position will be located at Cargill’s Corn Milling facility in Dayton, Ohio and will provide engineering leadership for the wet milling business at the location. This position will be responsible for process optimization, trial leadership, project execution, and operator development at the local facility. Position will also be responsible to support business unit wide initiatives and lead knowledge transfer efforts between all facilities.
20% - Verify local compliance to CMO guidelines and performance standards.
20% - Challenge and optimize local thought processes, procedures, and preserved operational limits.
20% - Develop and execute projects to drive continued success of the department.
10% - Monitor and enforce EH&S policies and procedures. Develop new standards for risk free operations.
10% - Become local expert on wet milling process. Train and develop local team.
10% - Communicate local success and opportunities to business unit wide team. Leverage team knowledge to achieve local success.
10% - Travel to support key initiatives
Bachelor’s of Science in Chemical, Mechanical, or other engineering discipline that has a strong foundation in thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, mass and material balance, and process design.
1+ years of experience in engineering, PDG, or process supervision.
General knowledge of production management with ability to develop understanding of plant processes and operational needs.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects while effectively communicating goals, objectives, and accomplishments to a broad audience.
Proven ability to drive action items to completion with minimal supervision.
High levels of organization, communication, and documentation skills.
Ability to travel domestically 10% of the time.
Knowledge of job accounting and material procurement practices.
Demonstrated ability to control project costs and timelines.
Knowledge of CMO development, rollout, and document control.
Knowledge of trial system and procedures.
