        Position Description

        Technical Ladder/Manufacturing Engineer

        Duties/Responsibilities

        Prepare supporting documentation as needed for planned activities (business plan, cost down, efficiency improvements, etc.)

        Provide monthly updates for status of assigned projects and responsible line SQCD characteristics

        Identify SQDC improvement opportunities for responsible line.

        Propose & gain approval for implementation of improvement activities via cost benefit analysis

        Continuous monitoring of equipment efficiency metrics & process cycle time (ensure data is accurate & logged)

        Create, present, & discuss prepared monthly engineering reports, updated schedules, & activity plans with Department Management

        Investigate abnormal quality problems on a daily basis and work with Q group to develop appropriate counter measures

        Participate in weekly Technical meetings. Discuss current SQCD top concerns and develop plan for repairs and/or countermeasure activity

        Work with equipment service associates to develop proper PM points for maintaining equipment

        Daily Tasks Performed

        Drive activity listed on action plans(s) and/or business plans

        Troubleshoot production equipment

        Implement process improvements

        Monitor key characteristics of production lines

        Hold information meetings and provide updates on activity

        Input daily line down time & Q information to database

        Additional Work Factors

        Environment candidates will be working in: Office 30% & Floor 70%

        Estimated amount of overtime: 0 to 15 hours in a week

        Frequency, average duration of travel: Approximately 2 times/year

        Position Requirements

        Minimum Job Relevant Knowledge

        Understanding of machine tools & basic machining processes

        Basic understanding of machined part fixturing principles

        Knowledge of proper cutting tool application

        Familiarity with basic part measurement equipment

        Minimum Job Relevant Experience

        0-4 years in a Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering role

        Degree/Certification Required

        BS in Engineering (Mechanical/Manufacturing)

        Required Skills

        Mechanical aptitude with machine tools & industrial assemblies

        Analytical trouble shooting

        Computer skills (PowerPoint, Word, Excel)

        Good communication skills (written, verbal, presentations)

        Demonstrated time management skills

        Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment

        Ability to relate part print information to manufacturing processes

        Desired Skills and Abilities

        Planning and organizational skills

        Creating machine specifications

        General electrical and PLC knowledge

        Proficiency with AutoCAD
