Position Summary

Load/unload and transport material, analyze dosimeters, monitor sterilizer operation, perform routine maintenance, and perform general housekeeping duties.

Principal Accountabilities

Mathematical ability, as well as the ability to accurately perform the basic record keeping requirements.

Must be able to complete various forms in a neat and legible manner, must have the ability to read, write and speak the English language.

Must be able to obtain a forklift license.

Operate a forklift to stage pallets of product. Load product cartons into tote boxes prior to sterilization. Unload and re-palletize product cartons after sterilization. Count and verify the quantity of product sterilized.

Place, retrieve and read dosimeters on product being sterilized. Accurately record all dosimeter readings. Operate a spectrophotometer and thickness gauge. Legible handwriting is required.

Monitor operation of irradiator and its support equipment. Notify appropriate personnel of any malfunction.

Assist in the basic routine maintenance on the irradiator and its support equipment as assigned.

Observe department's safety regulations and to use personal protective equipment as required.

Practice department's good manufacturing and housekeeping procedures and complete cleaning verification checklists as required.

Adhere to plant/Corporate policies/procedures, department safety and environmental regulations, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and ISO 13485 Standards.

Report any unusual circumstances to immediate supervisor and perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned.

The work environment is a warehouse setting. This setting is noisy and may require hearing protection. Smocks, hairnets, and if necessary, beard covers must be worn in some manufacturing areas. Earrings must be completely covered by the hairnet. Overtime is job required. Reports to Shift Supervisor.

Education and/or Experience : Previous manufacturing experience preferred. High School Diploma/ GED required. Must obtain a forklift operator’s certification. Must pass a background check administered by the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
