The Outer Banks Family YMCA is located in a beautiful resort community of Nags Head, North Carolina, only 1/8 miles from the ocean! This modern, 28,000 square foot facility has a fitness center, two group exercise studios, and group cycling studio, free weight center, Interactive Zone, Child Watch Center, two racquet ball courts, sauna, hot tub, and a 15,000 square foot skate park. The aquatic facility has a 6 lane, 25 meter indoor aquatic center. The outdoor water park consists of a free form fun pool, a water slide, spray park, deep pool with diving board, and a pool bath house.
The YMCA of South Hampton Roads is seeking an energetic, proven, hands-on professional to provide leadership and management to the aquatics department including pool operation, lifeguarding and swim instruction with a focus on member relations and retention in the various programs within the aquatic department. The director will provide leadership in the development, coordination, planning, and administration of the Aquatic Department and assist in the annual We Build People campaign and SPLASH program. In addition, the director will assist with special events as assigned. Must have commitment to provide extraordinary membership service, outstanding program quality, the ability to lead and mentor, and be a positive force in the community.
The successful candidate must possess the following qualifications to be considered:
Bachelor's Degree and/or equivalent experience in Physical Education, Recreation, Health Science, or related field.
Three years experience in managing pools and swim programs.
Two or more years experience in managing staff preferred.
Must have and maintain YMCA or Red Cross Lifeguard with CPR, AED, First Aid, Oxygen Administration, YMCA Swim lessons Instructor or WSI, YMCA Pool Operator or AFO.
Preferred certifications include YMCA Aquatic Management, YMCA Lifeguard Instructor and YMCA Swim Lesson Trainer.
Experience in fiscal management of a $30,000 swim lesson budget preferred.

Salary: $30,000 - $34,000
