The Nurse Recruiter is responsible for providing the best quality customer service to ACH hiring managers, internal transfers, and job candidates by developing and maintaining nursing labor resources. Responsible for implementing effective recruitment, screening and selection process to ensure the qualified candidates move into best-fit positions. Responsible for evaluating recruitment strategies and recommending necessary changes, as well as participating in programs that enhance the recruitment and retention functions of the hospital.
Job Duties
Developing and Maintaining Resources
Maintains knowledge of ACH operational needs and market demographics. •Promotes ACH as an Employer of Choice. •Professionally represents ACH at job fairs, career days, conferences, and other events to attract potential candidates in local/regional and national markets. •Builds a pipeline of prospective candidates through partnerships with educational institutions, as well as participation in professional organizations and community networks. •Develops talented and diverse candidate resources through creative methods and understands the impact of applied recruitment strategies. •Ensures customer satisfaction by maintaining regular contact with department managers and prospective candidates.
Implementing Recruitment Strategies
Serves as a consultant for hiring managers on overall hiring process, collaborate on job posting details and creation, application process, planning and implementation of recruitment strategies and strategies to attract and select top talent. •Provides ongoing advice to hiring managers on specific policies as they relate to all facets of recruiting new employees, transfers and promotions. •Reviews basic qualifications and preferred skills related to success in the position with department managers prior to posting/advertising the position. •Review job descriptions to ensure appropriate information included for advertisement, internet postings and targeted job boards. •Develops measurable written recruitment plans to include: specialized advertising, field activities (outside recruiting efforts), statistical information obtained through research, identification of educational facilities specializing in the area of need, marketing strategies and budgeting requirements for implementing each aspect of recruitment strategy as needed. •Advises department managers on effective candidate interview and assessment/evaluation techniques. •Exercises independent judgment to determine most qualified candidates in the applicant pool. •Communicates with job applicants to provide feedback on application status. •Ensures positive applicant experience throughout the application and hiring process. •Advises hiring managers and employees regarding the transfer processes. • Provides career counseling to employees seeking transfers. •Effectively negotiate and communicate offer to successful candidates •Upon final selection facilitates pre-employment screening requirements.
Evaluation and Reporting
Participates in selected process improvement projects that relate to nurse recruitment and retention. •Collects and analyzes data on demographics and hiring activity for use in designing recruitment plans. •Works with Managers and Nursing Recruitment staff to analyze particular recruitment and retention issues. •Carries out specific strategies to address identified recruitment and retention challenges. •Meets regularly with Department Directors to assist in forecasting recruitment needs and identify appropriate resources needed to achieve short-term and long-term workforce needs. •Responsible for assisting with special projects and/or process improvement efforts as needed. •Participates in the development of new recruitment strategies, programs, and procedure to meet organizational needs
