SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE REQUIRED TO PERFORM JOB:
Graduate or undergraduate candidates, business/finance/accounting background strongly preferred
In order to qualify for internship, candidate must be enrolled in a college/university degree program; graduation date no earlier than December 2011 preferred
Ability to work independently
Understanding of basic concepts of capital markets
Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Individual must be motivated, eager to learn and willing to take on a range of projects
Intern must be able to work in the Calvert office in Bethesda, MD, therefore only local candidates will be considered.
Associate work schedule:
15 - 20 hours per week
External Job Description:
JOB PURPOSE:
The Equities intern is responsible for assisting Calvert’s equities department in fundamental and quantitative investment analysis, macro economic monitoring, research and other projects as needed.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND JOB RESULTS:
- Assist analysts with macro economic research and data maintenance
- Support and participate in the gathering of market data for fundamental and quantitative company analysis, including participating in earnings and sell-side analyst conference calls
- Support sub-advisory search processes including researching potential candidates, maintaining records, and contacting new prospects
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:
Perform data quality checks, data processing, and analysis to support the portfolio management team
Support data verification in Charles River, AXYS, Barra, and FactSet
Support portfolio traders
Maintain data for custom attribution and analysis tools
